PROJECTS, PROJECTS, PROJECTS!

We all feel the need to be of service to our Lord, and many of us look for projects that have meaning in helping and furthering the Kingdom of God. But in truth, God doesn't need our help. However, having said that, he expects us to do good works in his name. He is pretty clear about his expectations of how we work our faith:

Faith Without Works Is Dead

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? (James 2:14-20)
But I will say, sometimes we have great ideas, good intentions, and talent for a ministry, but we can't do it alone. So we  seek help only to find that out there isn't anyone to join in the project. Many of the reasons are: they don't have time, they are committed to other projects, and of course the most usual problem--they haven't any money to contribute. It is so discouraging. Sometimes I ask, what does God want me to do? Where do I turn?
The answer? Turn to God. As frustrating as it is, remember: "For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11).
I will be the first to tell you: It's not easy. But let's keep strong, and keep praying for direction. God is good! Hang in there!
